Concrete Protection

Silane impregnation is a known technology to protect concrete from damage caused by water and chloride penetration. Structures such as wharves and bridges can be heavily affected by water penetration and Tech-Dry has a broad range of silane products to protect concrete.

SOLID SILANE contains 80% octyltriethoxysilane formulated as a water-based non-drip thixotropic cream for reinforced concrete. To resist water and chloride ion ingress, SOLID SILANE is used on reinforced concrete structures such as buildings, wharves and bridges to prevent water and chloride ion-induced reinforcement corrosion.

PROTECTASILANE 100 is a pure octyl triethoxy silane used for concrete protection. Unlike isobutyl triethoxy silane, octyl triethoxy silane is a less volatile silane which imparts less impact on the environment. In addition, octyl triethoxy silane offers better coverage and its wet film tends to stay in the treated surface longer.

PROTECTASILANE is an alkali-stable silane/siloxane based impregnant formulated to impart excellent water repellency to concrete and other masonry building materials. PROTECTASILANE is designed to penetrate into the first few millimetres of the surface and make it water repellent. This water repellent zone dramatically reduces the absorption of water and water borne salts such as chloride, while still allowing the free passage of water vapour.

SOLID SILANE 40 is a water based cream containing more than 40% active silicones. It is used as a general purpose water repellent for various masonry materials including concrete, stone, bricks and pavers. SOLID SILANE 40 will help to reduce water penetration, efflorescence and harmful salts migration.
