Underslab Damp-proofing

Platon is a PERMANENT solution for Rising Damp in concrete slabs.

As we know an underslab moisture barrier is essential. Concrete, through capillary action pulls water from the soil - even in Australia's drought like conditions. Evidence of this occurs on the slab as efflorescence; a white chalky finish.

The damage caused by soil moisture rising through concrete slabs is a problem that is often overlooked, resulting in dampness, mould, damage to floor coverings and valuable home contents, but it is a problem that can be easily remedied in new construction.

Polyethylene vapour barriers alone are not an effective solution for underslab damp-proofing for two reasons.
1. They are readily damaged by normal concrete placement procedures
2. Low density polyethylene becomes brittle and porous when in contect with the high alkaline environment presented by concrete.

Platon on the other hand, is a permanent solution for Rising Damp in concrete slabs. Manufactured from high density polyethylene, Platon is tough enough to withstand normal concrete placement procedures without damage and is unaffected by alkaline and in concrete.
